The Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design, and Heritage, located in Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan, was established and restructured under the supervision of the Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design (CEAD) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. The establishment of the university was authorized through Act XIV of Sindh 2020, which was duly approved by the Sindh Assembly and officially published in the Sindh Assembly Gazette on July 15, 2019.

Initially, the college was established as an institution called the Federal College of Art and Design (FCAD), and it was later relocated to the University of Sindh. Subsequently, on April 11, 2000, the college building was transferred to the Project Directorate of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. For the disciplines of Textile and Communication Design, the total fee for the full duration of the course is Rs. 630,000.00. However, for the discipline of Architecture and Planning, the total fee including tax for the entire course duration is Rs. 735,000.00. These fees are in addition to the regular scheme fees applicable to all other students.

Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro University Jamshoro Admission 2023

After its closure, the FCAD underwent a transformation and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro converted it into the Centre of Excellence in Art and Design. This conversion took place in August 2004 under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan. As part of this transformation, the academic affiliation of the institution shifted from the University of Sindh to MUET, Jamshoro. This change marked a significant milestone in the history of the institution.
